Dramitis Personae

Welcome to the Dramatis Personae, a suposedly helpful list of the characters in OF DOOM. There are no pictures of the characters as of yet, because 1) Those pictures are not avalible, and 2) there is something wrong with the site that prevents pictures from being put on it. Nevertheless, here is a complete listing of the characters, occasionally updated and in order of appearance.

The Warlord Leeroy Emptor:Leeroy is the Warlord, the commander of the Dark Lord's armies and his closest friend and advsisor. He is of medium hight with a surprisingly slight build and spiky black hair. He usually wears some kind of armor and a sword. Leeroy is usually friendly to anyone he meets, including enemies. Very skilled with all kinds of weapons. Leeroy was first seen in The Complimentary Prologue

The Dark Lord Cometh: The Dark Lord is a black-cloaked figure with an odd sense of humor, as can be seen from his name. His features cannot be seen, as he wears a black robe with a hood that shadows his face. Cometh rules a small patch of land from his Tower/Citadel of Doom, and has a host of minions who do his bidding. The minions are under the command of Warlord Emptor. In adition to his armies, the Dark Lord uses magic with frightening proficiency, and is skilled at creating magical items. As for his personality, he is generally arrogant, lazy, and cynical. That said, he is also capable of creating plans so coldly calculating they make Machelvelli look like Captain Kangaroo. The Dark Lord, along with Leeroy, was first seen in The Complimentary Prologue.

Ben Alleter: The soldier who first noticed the Dark Lord's army surrounding Sir Ferth's castle, and the only one who escaped the sack that followed, mainly because he ran like a little girl. He has a very tall helmet, perpetually wide eyes, and a red scarf. Ben was first seen in It's A Sport

Spike and Corwin: The two minions who have speaking parts. Spike is the minion with the crossbow and Corwin is the one with the spear or the sword, depending on what's at hand. Spike doesn't talk much and Corwin is probably more curious than he should be. Spike was the one who shot Sir Ferth. They both first appear in Down to Rubble.

Sir Ferth: (DECEASED) A knight in the service of King Memnor, Sir Ferth made the mistake of building a castle on the edge of the territory claimed by the Dark Lord, within sight of the Tower of Doom. The castle was sacked by Leeroy Emptor and Sir Ferth himself was slain by a crossbow bolt as he came forth onto his balcony to make a grand speech to the struggling warriors below. Sir Ferth's first and only appearence was in Down to Rubble

King Memnor II:King Memnor, Second of that Name, Slayer of the Dragon Tomachiar, Lord of the Evankeep, Grand Warden of the Krenden Reaches, Defeater of Gorment, Sword of Day and Light, is a worried man. He is neither a good king nor a bad one, and his actions don't really affect most of the populace. He doesn't have a very big army, is the nominal ruler of a smallish kingdom, and constantly worries about whether or not some other king will decide that Evankeep would be a good city to control. The only thing that he really has to his name is Evankeep itself, which is a magnificant citadel of a city built by a kingdom that has since split up into about thirty separate kingdoms. As he feels he doesn't have any soldiers to spare, when he learns of the Dark Lord's existance he releculently sends for heroes to destroy the Dark menace. King Memnor's first appearance is in The Usual Formalities

The Chancellor: The man who stands behind the throne. He advises King Memnor on everything from economics to how best to deal with goblins. He is usually standing in a deep shadow, with light reflecting from his rectangular glasses. He has brown hair, is of middling height, and has a scruffy goatee. He usually wears clothing of an ambiguous purple color. In personality, well, he is unflappable and emotionless. The only emotion that he ever displays is slight amusement. Probably a conspirator in something, definately a lover of intrigue. Enjoys good wine. The Chancellor made his first appearance in The Usual Formalities

Lord Kalt: Lord of the Barten Forest. Lord Kalt is the man that King Memnor sends as an ambassador to the Citadel of Doom to learn the Dark Lord's intentions. The Dark Lord threw a brick at him after a complicated metaphor, and then Leeroy gave him a bottle of wine and an ice pack. Kalt has black hair that he keeps bound in a pony tail and usually wears a green coat and a scroll case slung over his shoulder. Frankly, Lord Kalt couldn't care less about what happens outside of the Barten Forest. All the time he is forced to be away from his woodland castle is spent trying to get things done as fast as possible so he can head back there. Him and a group of bandits known as the Rovers have sort of a friendly rivalry going on, where the bandits try to steal from his lands and he tries to stop them. No one is ever killed: captured bandits are made to pay a fine and released. When he is away from the forest Lord Kalt worries that the Rovers will make off with something particularly important. They haven't yet, but there's a first time for everything. Lord Kalt was first seen in The Usual Formalities

Trevor Corwrath, the Warrior: Trevor is the Warrior of the band of heroes. He is a fine swordsman, a skilled tactitian, and the most "normal" of all the heroes. His efforts to do things in a rational manner are continually undermined by the other heroes. Trevor and the rest of the heroes are first seen in Beginning of the End

Daton Faith, the Reverend: Daton is a fanatic, and possibly a lunatic as well. He is a priest of the Sacrifice, and frightens even the Church. Daton doesn't have much of a grip on reality and views his fellow man with the sort of suspicion that would do the Inquisition proud.

Eddward Lyswood, the Archer: A former Rover from the Barten Forest, Eddward is a dashing rogue by any definition. He is fantastically skilled with his bow and takes an annoying amount of pride in performing trick shots that should be impossible. Has an obvious romance going with Shalta.

Shalta Trimeine, the Thief: The only thing that is known about Shalta's past is that she is a very good thief from Evankeep. Usually quite deadly with a dagger. Shalta has blond hair and dresses to show off. Has an obvious romance going with Eddward.

Thomas Non, the Expendable: Thomas' family has a tradition of having a seer look into the future to give their newborn children an epitet that will follow them for the rest of their lives. (Thomas is actually the only one of the heroes whose epitet is actually a part of his name and not a description) Thomas has the misfourtune to be so named by the infamous Alton the Drunk, a seer who sees the future by drinking until he loses consciousness and then trying to remember his visions he had after he wakes up. Alton named Thomas the Expendable and refused to elaborate. The name has followed him ever since. Thomas is actually skilled with a blade and a highly intelligent person, having written several scholarly books that are now in the Great Library of Evankeep (under an assumed name, of course). His unwanted epitet has garnered him a sembalance of fame, which he hates because it means he can't get rid of it. His name has made him sarcastic and cynical.

Lockwood Merry, the Singer: Lockwood is a singer of great renown, having played for many a lord and lady in a multitude of lands. She is innocent and naive, and sees the best in everyone. If she was attacked by bandits, she would greet them cheerfully and sing them a ballad. The weird thing is, she gets away with it regularly. Those aforementioned bandits would probably applaud and give her a bite to eat or something.

Spires, the Wizard: Spires is a mysterious figure in a blue robe with a drooping grey moustache. He is short and carries a black, crystal-tipped staff. He is a powerful wizard, with his greatest renown coming from defeating the Dark Lord and slaying him. Most people are afraid of Spires, with good reason.

The Creator: He is the Creator of the World that OF DOOM is set on. He has a contract with the Dark Lord and spends most of his time in the Void, a place outside of reality. Other than that nothing is known about him. The Creator first appears in The Terms of the Compact.
